The MERANGGI FOUNDATION is an environmental NGO that believes Bamboo is an important means by which we can address global climate concerns.

The Foundation works with farmers across Bali in the outgrowing of commercially valuable Bamboo species, providing Bamboo seedlings to participating farmers free of charge. We maintain detailed planting records (GPS), monitor Bamboo growth rates (including associated carbon capture) as well as securing markets for future Bamboo trade.

The Kapal Bambu (Bamboo Ship) showroom at John Hardy Jewelry in Mambal, Bali, Indonesia. Completed in June, 2007, the building is almost entirely of bamboo and features natural airconditioning and a living rice padi beneath its floors.
